Without a doubt, Wal-Mart has been one of the most successful companies of the past decades. This is largely attributed to the manner in which they tackle their emerging issues and the threats that the company faces in the different locations. The company has over the years been faced by issues that threatened the down fall of its success.
However, strategic planning and thinking has helped the managers of this company be able to eliminate these threats as they come. This is the reason the company remained successful as it is to date. Strategic elimination of threats is very important for any company seeking to succeed in winning the bigger share of a region’s market share index (Penrose, 1995).
