On the other hand, people can be discouraged to accept proposals through reactance also known as ant-conformity and self-fulfilling prophecy ((Perloff, 2008). Through self-fulfilling prophecy, individuals want to do what will make them achieve their intentions without anybody’s influence while ant-conformity is doing exactly the opposite of what others wish since you do not feel like its your creation.
