When we were asked to observe this fast, I realized how much I depended on commercial sources of information such as TV news channels and newspapers, without questioning the validity of the pieces that were broadcast. I believe that this is true of most individuals who get information from commercial sources and are so busy in their routine lives that they do not have the time to stop and question the veracity of the news they are watching or reading.
Before starting the fast I conducted some secondary research about the issue of trusting commercial entities to be truthful and honest in their reporting and I realized that there is barely any possibility of any commercial source of news to be unbiased as it is the corporate organizations who hold their strings, if any commercial news source decides to do otherwise the sponsors withdraw necessary sponsorships or threaten to do so.
