Through in depth analysis and investigation, it has been determined that the main problems and issues that exist in the workplace are those which pertain to increased levels of dissatisfaction amongst the employees and the low level of motivation that they have towards their work in the company. The employees in the company are not depicting interest in their work and often tend to delay the work until it becomes absolutely necessary. This reduces their productivity as well as the quality of the work.
The main reason that is voiced by the employees for their lack of interest, decreasing motivation towards work and their lack of involvement in the current business operations at the organization is due to the lack of participation that they have in the decision making in the organization and the lack of human resource development undertaken by the top level management at the company. The “participation in decision making appears to promote job satisfaction and commitment, whereas task variety and work effort foster participation” (Scott-Ladd, Travaglione, andMarshall, 2006). The disparity between the thinking and the mind set between the top level management and the interest of the human resource is monumental and one of the major sources of the issue at hand.
