A practical research based study is proposed which seeks to identify whether the students who attend preschool have a better success rate in elementary schools than students who do not attend preschool. The purpose of the study is to highlight the correlation between preschool attendance and the development of the students in terms of their intellectual capability, their academic success and performance level as well as their transitional ease for graduation onto higher grades.
The subjects of the research are the Grade I students which have attended preschool, as well as those who have not attended preschool. The exploratory research proposed is based on gathering data from an elementary school for first grade students who are divided into two groups based on their preschool attendance. Quantitative data would be collected through observations made on specific exercises and the test results of the students for those taken in the first month of their attendance of Grade I. In order to test the hypothesis the data would be analyzed through descriptive statistics and correlation statistics while a t-test would be used to test the hypothesis.
