Through the media and other sources of information, adolescents access sexual information of all sorts. As a result, their feelings are aroused and the curiosity to find out more facts about sexuality surge; forcing them to consult their close friends. Efforts to experience sexual impact drive teens into unhealthy friendships. Ultimately, the victim gets a dramatic introduction to sexual activities (Baumgartner et al, 2010).
Interestingly, peers lure their new friends to pornographic materials and sex gadgets some of which they use individually. Of course, the teenager might not share the experience with his or her parents for fear of their harsh reaction. Thus, an adolescent keeps the secret and confide in members of the peer group. Moreover, the thrill of first sexual experience and successive doses makes one want to indulge in the practice (Jaccard et al, 2005).
