Mosquito control can be done by removing or poisoning breeding grounds of mosquitoes. Stagnant water, empty cans lying around and thick bushes near the home can be cleared to minimize breeding grounds for the vectors.
Stagnant water can also be filled with oil. Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) can be carried out to eliminate infected mosquitoes so that they do not spread Malaria around from infected persons to non-infected ones. Mosquito control also entails the use of treated mosquito nets and insect repellants to avoid getting bitten by the Malaria-spreading insects. These are some of the cheap, yet effective methods of prevention of Malaria.
