The research set up herein was descriptive in nature. In open-ended questionnaires, respondents were asked to provide information on their sexual experiences. It is imperative to note that the design incorporated gender aspect, age variance and friendship cliques.
However, each individual was interviewed confidentially to limit intra-sample bias. Furthermore, the questionnaires were useful in eliminating interviewer prejudice.
On another note, the study took into account the incumbent variables as follows. While independent variable was peer influence, the dependent variables comprised adoption of undesirable sexual behaviors and the anticipated outcome of risks suffered.
