The book, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl was published in 1861 by Harriet Jacobs who made a mark in literature by providing a feminist chronicles of her live as a slave. The story provides a tale of how great sacrifices have to be made in order to achieve what is important and necessary in order to live in the world as a free person.
