The author also highlighted that the colonial migrants did not have freedom of movement as they were usually enslaved and provided restricted traveling privileges. However the immigrants are allowed to enter the United States of America and settle down wherever they can find amenities for themselves and can support their families. However as both the Asian and the European immigrants were usually poor and desperate for jobs they usually entered the blue collar industry. They were and are still treated like people of the third world. However with the passage of time the European immigrants become more prosperous. They started getting more skilled and higher paid jobs especially in the manufacturing industry and were able to reside in considerably affluent geographic areas.
The author concluded the topic by mentioning that America has now become a culturally and ethnically diverse state however the experiences that have been faced by tits different ethnical minorities are significantly different other minorities.
