The main objective that is present for solving the problem of the high cost driving bottle procurement system for the Tillerman Tea Company is to reduce the costs of procurement of the bottles and therefore reduce the overall production costs. The main objective therefore is to increase the profitability of the company by increasing its efficiencies and reducing its production and operating costs.
The problem that is being targeted for bottle transportation at the Tillerman Tea is that of reducing the production cost of the teas. Through analysis of the case and the data provided, it has been determined that the main function which is driving the production costs up is the company’s bottle procurement system. As a result the bottle procurement function is being made optimized for cost and time efficiencies.
