The generation that is described by Twenge is one which had declining social values, a well established concept of individualism or ‘me’ as described in the book. Aside from this the author also highlighted that he generation was also unable to take initiatives to develop themselves cause of the obstacles which they had to face resulting in high levels of cynicism in the generation. As a result it can be mentioned that while the iGeneration is a descendent of the generation described by Twenge sharing some of its attributes, the iGeneration is also significantly different due to the role that the internet and related technologies play in today’s world.
