Egyptians actually did not have any such religious scripture but they did produce several kinds of religious writings. Altogether the text gave the reader a detailed, yet partial, concept behind their traditions and beliefs.
There was mythology first of all which presented stories such that they illustrated the role of gods and how they have to act. Ritual and magical texts were also part of the religious writings and these were basically kept in temple libraries. Hymns and prayers were also written and these were normally poetic in nature. They had different purposes such as praising their gods and deities. Funerary texts were written in order to make sure that the souls of the dead people were able to come to a satisfying afterlife.
